  3. Well, I was very well involved in high school so that provided me with a lot of resources through connections with teachers and other faculty members. However, now that I look back I wish I would have looked at early college credit courses. I realized that the classes the I was required to take my first semester of college was a lot of review from high school material, especially General Chemistry. I think that if I would have decided to take on advanced college chemistry my senior year, I would have definitely saved myself some time and effort. (I was only 3 points away from testing out of Gen. Chem Patin. So you taught me well! lol) Other than that, I think it is EXTREMELY important to use your teachers as a resource with any questions you have regarding anything! I mean you’re at school for most of your time anyways. Ask Patin, he was my drama counselor, therapist, Chem teacher, and judgmental friend. =)

  4. I don't really regret anything or wish I would have taken more advantage of much. I mean, if anything I wish I would have been more proactive about some of my courses. Maybe I would have taken another AP class I found interesting online. But overall, by taking advantage of higher courses (AP and Honors), and asking a million questions, I think I prepared myself well. (For example, my college Statistics is like a review of my online AP Stats) Taking notes and memorizing definitions is one thing, but if you don't really understand what you're working with, it doesn't mean much. So take advantage of Mr. Patin and all your other teachers. You'll find that you'll remember your course material SO much better after having a one-on-one discussion versus a lecture. But seriously. Ask him anything; space, time travel, how the human eye works. He knows. Also, on a side note, being involved in activities other than classes makes your high school experience SO much better. So, even if you're not involved now, it's never too late. It's lovely to look back and remember what you were a part of. :)
