Beyond Chem II

A wise man once said " He who is never stretched, never grows." Another wise man once said "The person who never tries to climb the mountain, is guaranteed to never see the view".

Former and current Chem II students, what does that mean and how does it apply to your daily/weekly/monthly challenges?

  1. I actually really like both of these quotes. To me, they mean that you have to first start chasing your dreams in order to accomplish the goal. Also, on a somewhat deeper level, it means nothing comes without a price. Sometimes one has to climb a thought to be unattainable mountain in order to get the reward as well as learn from the experience. The end is worth the struggle to get there.

  2. I think the meaning of both combine is don't be afraid to try because if you don't try failure is sure to follow. If you don't give up, the result will be worth it. I think these quotes apply to our life right now. Most of the Chem II students are currently in the process of applying for college, some of us is scare and might even be intimated by the different colleges, but if we don't put in the application at all, we are sure to be rejected, on the other hand, if we try, we might make it.

  3. I think these quotes mean that if we never try to accomplish things, then we will never know what we are capable of. When we are faced with difficult problems, rather than giving up, we should try and try again to overcome these obstacles. I am faced with obstacles in school. Sometimes I feel like not doing my homework or studying because It is too hard, but if I stop trying then there will be consequences in the long run. These quotes are very wise and helpful soooooooooooooo I think we should all listen to them and always try our best in the things we do!!![: Yayyyyyy!

  4. Both of those quotes are pretty inspirational, actually. For both of those quotes, I think that they mean if you don't ever try and challenge yourself you are never going to be successful and reach high expectations. It applies to me because, I know that I have a tendency to give up when work gets hard. That, or I just complain about it. This year is a challenge for me because I know that it is my last year of high school, and I just want to be done! These quotes are very inspirational and I'll probably keep them in the back of my mind! :)))))

  6. I think the first part of the quote means that if you never try new things, you dont grow as a person. Diversity and experience is what you need in order to grow as a person. I think the second part of the quote means that if you dont except challenges you will never know what your full potential is or what you are capable of achieving. Both of these quotes apply to my daily life because I am involving myself in new things and trying different challenges, from academic to social, and I am noticing that the different things that I am involved in helps build my character and are helping me grow.

  7. To me the first quote means that if you never challenge yourself, you'll never learn new things and you will fall behind in the world. Th second quote is sending the same message. If you do not try, you will not succeed.

  8. Oops, I sent that without finishing :0 But, this applies to daily life because in school, andnsports and life in general, if you do not try or challenge yourself you will never learn, nor will you ever succeed.

  9. I think it means that if you never try your not going to succeed. You have to try in order to reach a goal. These quotes make me realize that I have to try and apply myself in order to get to a good place or to see things. It makes me want to work hard for what I want because if I try, I am likely to achieve my goal.

  12. These 2 quotes are pretty good and mean alot. I really like the second one which read "The person who never tries to climb the mountain, is guaranteed to never see the view". This can apply through out your whole life because if you dont try to get where you want to be which can be a a university or college, or get a career with job you like, you probably wont get there. You have to try and put an effort not just sit there and wait for it to all come to you. You have to work for it.

  13. I definitely can relate to these quotes. I can honestly say I live my life by these quotes without even knowing it. To me, these sayings are implying that nothing in life comes easy. You have to work and fight for what you want, and that's how you'll find yourself. Yeah, things are going to get difficult and you're going to want to give up at times, but that's when you really have to push yourself. Why settle, when you can do better? Why make your way to the mountain and not climb it? When I am faced with an obstacle or something different that I'm not used to, I embrace it. I love having challenges and I love the feeling of earning something as opposed to having it given to me. And that's why I believe that I am such a strong person today.

  14. The first quote for me, means if you plan to improve yourself, you can't take the easy route. You have to push yourself beyond what is comfortable. Paired with the second quote, you can see that you cannot expect success if you don't try. For me personally, it meant reaching for what I wanted and being unafraid, so you take harder classes, and get involved in more activities. And in the end it's worth it, because you can't help but enjoy what you've accomplished. In a daily basis, it's looking at your rough draft that COULD be done, but taking the extra hour or two, to make it better. It means reviewing your material rather than putting it off because you "know it". It's doing more activities, going outside of your comfort zone, so in the end, you're living your life as actively as possible, because if you live your life passively, you'll find you won't experience quite as many beautiful things.
